Hope Mill Theatre School is seeking an exceptional Acting Tutor to join our existing team. The Theatre School is based in Ancoats, Manchester and is part of Hope Mill Theatre and The Factory of Creativity CIO.

Launched in June 2021, Hope Mill Theatre School provides young people aged 2-18 with access to affordable drama training in singing, dancing and acting in the heart of the North West. Fifty percent of places at the school are fully funded.

Classes take place between 10:30am and 1:30pm on Saturdays during term time. The school runs twelve-week terms in line with the Manchester school holidays. There will also be teaching opportunities at the HMTS Summer School in August. Tutors will be paid £20 per hour.

HMTS Tutors are responsible for the planning and delivery of classes in liaison with the Principal. As well as on-going class work, Subject Lead Tutors will rehearse students for the end-of-term showcases and the summer full-school musical.  Tutors will be required to communicate effectively with the other Subject Leads and the Principal. Tutors will also be required to write student reports once a year.

All Tutors should have a passion for, and strong knowledge and experience of Musical Theatre, their subject area, and be enthusiastic about training the next generation of performers. Tutors should be personable and approachable and maintain and inspire the high standards of Hope Mill Theatre. Tutors should have a strong knowledge of Child Protection protocols and be willing to undertake further training and a DBS check.

Choir Leader

Hope Mill Theatre and The Factory of Creativity CIO. is seeking exceptional Choir Leader for our new Adult Community Choir starting October 2021.

The Choir will rehearse in our Community Hub on Mondays in term time 7-9pm, starting from the end of October.  

The Choir Lead will be responsible for the planning and delivery of choir rehearsals and concerts. They will work with the Youth Outreach Manager to arrange concerts.

The choir lead will be required to communicate effectively with the other tutors at Hope Mill Theatre School and the Principal.

The Choir Lead should have a passion for, and strong knowledge and experience of Musical Theatre and be enthusiastic about training singers and working with community groups. The choir lead should be personable and approachable and maintain and inspire the high standards of Hope Mill Theatre. The Choir Lead will be paid £20 per hour.

Front of House Volunteers

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to be a part of our Front of House team! If you love the theatre, maybe you’ll love helping out on the box office?!

Duties will include: selling tickets, helping customers, greeting people, selling programs, ushering, etc.

Community Council!

As we continue to make our brand-new Hope Mill Theatre Community Hub the best it can be, we want to hear from YOU!

We’re placing our community at the heart of all decision making at the hub – through several different phases of outreach and discussion we want to make sure we are giving back to our local area in ways that are most beneficial.

We have already hosted a series of Zoom focus groups with people from our surrounding area, where we discussed the kinds of projects we can provide to best serve our community.
