We would be lost without our volunteers at Hope Mill Theatre. Whether front of house, back stage, or on work experience placements, the time volunteered with us keeps our cogs turning!
Take a look at the below opportunities, and complete the form at the bottom of the page to get in touch.
Front of House Volunteering
Do you love Theatre and want to see more Hope Mill Theatre Shows? Why not come and be a Front of House Volunteer with us?
Our cherished FOH Volunteers support us with the opening of the venue, welcoming patrons, checking ticket bookings and showing audiences to their seats, making people feel welcome and excited for the performance ahead!
Our FOH Volunteers get to see the performance for free with a hot or soft drink of their choice!
“I love meeting people at the theatre and seeing the shows put on there as part of my shift is amazing”
“I like volunteering because HMT is a great space with friendly staff, and the visitors are great too.”
“I love Hope Mill and, being in the choir also, like feeling part of the community and supporting the theatre. I’ve also enjoyed meeting and chatting with fellow theatre lovers”
“I like volunteering at the theatre as it’s very easy going and the people are so friendly and the productions are amazing”
Amateur Dramatics Society
Our Am Dram productions are a real highlight of our programme, and at the heart of those performances are our wonderful volunteers who help to make costumes, do make-up and hair, work backstage, paint sets and make props.
These volunteers are often University and College students but could be anyone who is looking for experience working behind the scenes in a theatre.
Want to develop your skills and help work on a show? Come volunteer on our AmDram performances!
Are you at university looking to pursue a career in the arts, and want some hands on experience, or you’re at school and figuring out where your future might take you… why not come and do a work experience placement with us at HMT!
We love having students join us here; from working on our in house shows, to supporting the day-to-day operations of the venue, assisting with our outreach activities and so much more… no two days are the same!
We accept placements and work experiences from High School to University and we’ve had students join us from LIPA, Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester Met University and Salford University.
Are you wanting to expand your social media and marketing skills? We have plenty of opportunities to come and support our in-house marketing teams and work on our social media platforms this summer! Whether that’s content creation for our Hope Mill Theatre Socials, building our new TikTok platform or even assisting with our marketing campaigns. We’d love to have you join us!
