Using money raised by National Lottery players, The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK’s heritage. Hope Mill’s Big Birthday is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to spend the last eight months researching and celebrating Hope Mill, its people and our community.
Over the course of the project Ruth Darling our researcher led a team of research volunteers, who delved into the archives and discovered so much information about our beautiful mill. As a theatre we wanted the legacy of this project to reflect us as a venue and to be accessible to as many people as possible. So with the help of local video artist Grant Archer we have produced the following films based on all our discoveries.
