Bizet’s Carmen

Sexually confused and dominated by the strictly religious upbringing imposed by his widowed mother, farmworker José has come from the country to Seville to get a glimpse of the young burlesque dancer he has idolised from afar, Carmen.

With adult LGBT themes.  This devised production uses the characters and music from Bizet’s classic opera to show that the themes of passion and jealousy are universal. Carmen is played by countertenor, GREG PRITCHARD and José by ROBIN PIETÀ. We are delighted to welcome BENJAMIN DI’ATH to the secret opera team in the role of The Dancer and newcomer KARL SCHILG as the male stripper (in a matador costume), Escamillo.  All accompanied by The Pianist and The Fiddler, currently ANDREW CHARITY and NINA KOPPARHED.
