Manchester Welcomes Hope Mill Theatre

18th March 2016

Our first ever event was a very special (and somewhat bonkers) private party for a 30th birthday in Oct 2015. We had drag performers, aerial artists, lip-syncing cabaret and performers roaming all over and a very happy birthday girl in the middle! Holding the event on Halloween, the theme was ‘American Horror Story Hotel’, and our venue was turned into twisted playground for freaks and ghouls to frolic in. What a way to start! You can watch the video produced by Andreas Andrews Photography here:

Then 2016 started with a BANG! We featured in a wonderful article by the MEN and another in The Stage. Needless to say these very complimentary write-ups brought us lots of great attention and afterwards things got very busy. As a result our 2016 programme is bursting with theatre with a new musical Parade co-produced and choreographed by the Hope Mill founders!

Next we hosted the resoundingly successful production of Orphans, Play With Fire’s first production that set tongues wagging and was a huge audience draw. People visiting our space for the first time were simply bowled over by how relaxing and laid back our Mill felt. If you missed the show then you can read a review of Orphans by North West End here. We loved hosting it and look forward to working again with Play with Fire again in the future.
