Following its successful 2016 tour, Dreamshed Theatre is delighted to return to Hope Mill Theatre with Bill Cronshaw’s play ‘Shalalalalee’. This tender and evocative love story, set to the backdrop of Manchester City’s revival under Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison, is a tale of football club fanaticism, young love, heady dreams and thwarted ambition.
Set in the ‘Swinging Sixties’, when life for young Mancunians generally and City fans in particular, was good, Janice and Tony, believing the world to be at their feet, prepared for exciting times.
With archive media material and a backdrop of classic sixties’ hits capturing the spirit of the time, ‘Shalalalalee’ takes theatre audiences (and City fans!) on an evocative trip down memory lane!
The play contains strong language and some scenes of partial nudity.
